Lansoprazole is a drug in the same pharmacological class as omeprazole. He is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), which is used to suppress the production of stomach acid. According to relevant studies, the plasma elimination half-life of lansoprazole (1.5 hours) is not proportional to the duration of the drug's effect on humans (ie gastric acid suppression).
