Introduction:Noopept, N-phenylacetyl-L-prolylglycine ethyl ester , is a synthetic nootropic molecule. It has a similar effect to piracetam, in that it provides a mild cognitive boost after supplementation. Noopept also provides a subtle psychostimulatory effect.
Noopept has a much lower standard dose than piracetam, and it provides a general neuroprotective effect after supplementation. This neuroprotective effect occurs during various states of cognitive trauma, including oxidative stress and physical trauma.
Noopept, a strong cognitive enhancer, was developed in Russia in the early 2000s for the treatment of alcohol induced brain damage. It is a powerful substance which is able to cross the blood brain barrier, works primarily by binding to glutamate receptors and exerting strong neuroprotective effects on the brain. Its high bio-availability also means it is fast acting and may have a cumulative effect. While it is most well known as a brain supplement, Noopept also increases coordination and improves mood.
