Aprotinin (Trasylol, alias: Aprotinin, Dromid) can inhibit trypsin and chymotrypsin, and prevent the activation of other active factors in the pancreas and the self-activation of trypsinogen. It is clinically used to prevent and treat acute pancreatitis, hemorrhage caused by fibrinolysis and diffuse intravascular coagulation. It can also be used for anti-shock therapy. After abdominal surgery, direct injection into the abdominal cavity can prevent intestinal adhesions. Note that trypsin inhibitor is not equal to aprotinin, and the two are not synonymous.The correct definition of trypsin inhibitor is: trypsin inhibitor (TI) is a polypeptide or protein that can inhibit the activity of trypsin. Aprotinin is just one type of trypsin inhibitor.

Uses	Aprotinin inhibits the human trypsin, plasmin, plasma and tissue kallikrein through a reversible enzyme-inhibitor complex formed in a certain chemical ratio. Serine-active factors play a major role in the kallikrein-kininogen-kinin system, complement system, and coagulation system. In these systems, plasmin and plasma kallikrein both play key roles.
