Tianeptine is reported to act as a selective inhibitor of dopamine uptake . Tianeptine does not have a noted effect on monoamine uptake. In a study utilizing purified synaptosomes from rat brain, Tianeptine was reported to enhance serotonin uptake in selective brain regions.
