N-acetyl-L-cysteine is a white crystalline powder with a garlic like odor and a sour taste. It is hygroscopic, easily soluble in water or ethanol, and insoluble in ether. It is acidic in aqueous solution (pH2-2.75 in 10g/LH2O), and MP101-107 ºC. This product is an N-acetylated derivative of cysteine, with sulfhydryl groups in its molecules, which can break the disulfide bond (- S-S -) of the peptide bond of mucin, thereby turning the mucin chain into a small molecule peptide chain and reducing the viscosity of mucin. Therefore, this product is a solubilizer for mucus, purulent sputum, and respiratory mucus.

Function:
N-acetyl-L-cysteine can be used as a mucolytic drug. It is suitable for respiratory obstruction caused by massive mucus obstruction. In addition, it can also be used for detoxification of acetaminophen poisoning. Due to the special odor of this product, taking it can easily cause nausea and vomiting. "It has a stimulating effect on the respiratory tract and can cause bronchospasm. It is commonly used in combination with bronchodilators such as isoproterenol, and in conjunction with a sputum aspirator to expel phlegm.". It is not suitable to contact metals (such as Fe, Cu), rubber, oxidants, etc. It should not be used together with antibiotic drugs such as penicillin, cephalosporin, tetracycline, etc. to avoid reducing their antibacterial effect. Application:
