Tropicamide is an anticholinergic drug that can block the excitatory effect of iris sphincter and ciliary muscle caused by acetylcholine. Clinically, it is mainly used to treat mydriasis and accommodative paralysis.Application:
Topicarmide is a synthetic derivative of tropic acid. It has a low dissociation constant, good intraocular permeability, and strong tissue diffusion, which may be the reason for its rapid onset and short maintenance time. The mydriatic and regulatory paralysis effect of this product reaches a peak within 20-30 minutes after eye drops of 0.5% and 1% solution. Subsequently, the effect gradually decreases, and the paralysis (residual) is regulated for 2~6 hours. Mydriasis (residual) for about 7 hours. Topiracamide is an atropine-like drug, which can sharply increase the intraocular pressure of angle-closure glaucoma and may also stimulate undiagnosed angle-closure glaucoma. The intensity of cyclomodulatory paralysis of topiramide eye drops is closely related to the dose, and its four concentrations, 0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75% and 1%, have regulatory paralytic effects. After eye drops, the maximum residual adjustment degree was 0.25% 3.17 diopter and 1% 1.30 diopter, respectively. If the residual adjustment degree can be maintained at or below 2.0 diopters, 0.75% and 1% solutions can be maintained for 40 minutes, and 0.5% can be maintained for about 15 minutes. After a drop of 1% solution to the eye, the second drop can obtain a more satisfactory cycloplegic effect of about 20~30 minutes.
