Magnesium stearate, also known as magnesium stearate, is a fatty acid salt type anionic surfactant. It appears as white fine powder with a slight odor and a slippery feel. Soluble in hot aliphatic hydrocarbons, hot aromatic hydrocarbons, hot grease, but not chemically soluble in alcohol and water. When exposed to strong acid, it decomposes into stearic acid and the corresponding magnesium salt. Magnesium stearate has good adhesion to the skin and good lubricity. It is used in powder products in cosmetics to improve adhesion and lubricity.

Functions of Magnesium Stearate
Magnesium stearate is mainly used as lubricant, anti-sticking agent and glidant. It is especially suitable for granulating oils and extract drugs. The granules produced have good fluidity and compressibility. Used as a glidant in direct compression tableting. It can also be used as a filter aid, clarifying agent and foaming agent, as well as a suspending agent and thickener for liquid preparations.
Application
1.
