Oxytetracycin is a kind of organic matter, chemical formula C22H24N2O9, light yellow crystalline powder, slightly soluble in ethanol, very slightly soluble in water. Stable in air and darkening in light. Oxytetracycline is an acid-base amphoteric substance, which can be combined with acid or base to form salts. It dissolves very little in water and is easily soluble in dilute alkali and dilute acid. Oxytetracycline salt is easily damaged and ineffective in alkaline aqueous solution, and is more stable in acidic aqueous solution.

Function:
Oxytetracycline is mainly used for the prevention and control of livestock and poultry Escherichia coli, salmonella infection (such as calf dysentery, lamb dysentery, piglet yellow dysentery, young livestock paratyphoid, etc.), Pasteurella, brucella infection and panting disease of pigs, chronic respiratory disease of chickens; It is also commonly used to treat rickettsiosis in dogs, infectious anemia in cats, and to prevent chlamydia and spirochetosis in dogs; It is used locally for endometritis and tissue necrosis caused by necrotic bacillus. Terramycin as a feed licking additive can promote growth and improve feed conversion.
Application:
The antibacterial spectrum and antibacterial principle of tetracycline are basically the same. Bacterial cross-resistance to tetracycline, oxytetracycline and aureomycin. It is slightly more effective than aureomycin and tetracycline in the treatment of intestinal infections, including amebic dysentery. Other indications are the same as tetracycline.
