Luteolin is a naturally occurring molecule known as bioflavonoid, often found in foods including parsley, artichoke leaves, celery, peppers, olive oil, rosemary, lemons, peppermint, sage, thyme, and many others. Luteolin is thought to play an important role in the human body as an antioxidant, a free radical scavenger, an agent in the prevention of inflammation, a promoter of carbohydrate metabolism, and an immune system modulator.
Luteolin is often found in leaves, rinds, barks. Natural sources include peanut shell , celery, broccoli, green pepper, parsley, thyme, dandelion, chamomile, carrots, olive oil, peppermint, rosemary, and oreganno. According to the standards of China Institute for the control of pharmaceutical and biological products, luteolin products sold in the market at present are relatively good products if the content detected by HPLC external standard method is greater than 93%. High uric acid resistance --- Luteolin, as a natural flavonoid, has the characteristics of inhibiting the activity of xanthine oxidase, thus inhibiting the formation of uric acid.
