Ketoconazole is a class of broad-spectrum antifungal imidazoles, marketed under the names of Gindakanine, Mekikangling and Koning, that inhibit ergosterol biosynthesis on fungal membranes by highly selective interference with the activity of fungal cytochrome P-450. It is effective to both shallow and deep fungal infection, which can inhibit both fungal growth and spores transformation into mycelium, preventing further infection. Low concentration bacteriostasis, high concentration sterilization. It has antibacterial effect on candida, Chemicalbook, coccidioides, histoplasmoid, sporohypha and tinea trichoderma. Clinically applicable to the treatment of tinea mantis, tinea pedis, tinea skin, tinea body, tinea jock, thrush, tinea versicolor and skin candidiasis. Ketoconazole lotion, as an external drug, is mainly used for the treatment and prevention of various infections caused by Malaseic bacteria, such as tinea versicolor, seborrheic dermatitis and scalp pityriasis (dandruff), and can quickly relieve the desquamation and itching caused by seborrheic dermatitis and scalp pityriasis.
