Hericium erinaceus is a fungus in the family Dentomycetes and Hericium genus. The fruiting body is medium, large or large, 3.5-10 (30) cm in diameter, fleshy, head-shaped or obovate in shape, resembling a monkey's head, hence the name "hericium".
