3.1 Food As a food additive, magnesium citrate is used to regulate acidity and is known as E number E345.Magnesium Citrate can be used as a dietary supplement and as a nutrient. .It is listed as one food supplement which can be applied to infant food,special medical and weight control in Europe.
3.2 Heart Health:Magnesium helps to keep the heartbeat regular, by regulating conduction of the electrical signals that control the heart's timing. Magnesium citrate is commonly used to prevent arrhythmia.
3.3 Bone Strength:Magnesium citrate helps to regulate the transport of calcium across cell membranes, playing a key role in bone creation.
3.4 Muscle and Nerve Support:Magnesium is needed in order for muscles and nerves to function properly. Magnesium ions, along with calcium and potassium ions, provide the electrical charges that cause muscles to contract and that allow nerves to send electrical signals throughout the body.
3.5 Digestion Regulation:Magnesium citrate causes the intestines to release water into the stool,it is more gentle than some of the other magnesium compounds and found as the active ingredient in many commercially available saline laxatives and it is used to completely empty the bowel prior to a major surgery or colonoscopy.
4. The role of Magnesium Citrate Tablet :
4.1. Used at prevention and cure scurvy, also can be used at various acute and chronic infectious diseases and auxiliary treatment such as purpura.Patients with Keshan disease can be treated with high dose of this product when cardiac shock occurs.
4.2. It is used in the treatment of chronic iron poisoning (vitamin C promotes iron complexation by deferriamine, which accelerates iron excretion).
4.3.It is effective in the treatment of idiopathic methemoglobinemia.
