Another common name for this rare fruit is Souari Nuts, as the nuts of this fruit are often consumed in the same way many people eat roasted peanuts.

Pequi Oil is rich in Vitamin E and Pro-Vitamin A carotenoids, as well as a unique combination of Oleic and Palmitic acids that contribute to its moisturizing and healing properties. Pequi holds an important place in the culture of the indigenous people of the Cerrado region of Brazil. Known locally as the Gold of the Cerrado, Pequi is valued for its role in the Brazilian diet and for the nourishing oil that can be extracted from the fruit's seeds.
