What is Carbenoxolone ?
Glycyrrhizic acid is one of the deep-processed series products of liquorice extract. Glycyrrhiza glabra is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine, which is widely used in medicine, tobacco, food and other fields. Its main active ingredient, glycyrrhizic acid, has adrenocorticotropic hormone-like effects and can be used for detoxification, anti-inflammation, cough suppression, anti-tumour and so on. The glycoside of glycyrrhizic acid is glycyrrhizinic acid. In human body, glycyrrhizinic acid is hydrolysed by gastric acid or decomposed by β-glucuronidase in liver to form glycyrrhizinic acid.
