Chrysin is also called chrysanthin. Pale yellow prismatic crystal (crystallized from methanol), melting point 285°C. Slightly soluble in ether, ethanol and chloroform, insoluble in water. Found in the seeds and stem bark of Oroxylum indicum (L.) Vent., a plant in the Bignon family, in the heartwood of Pinus mon-ticola Dougl., and P. aristata Engelm. Xinmu etc.
