The flower stem is thick and robust, reaching up to 2 meters high; From late spring to early summer, from the flowering stage to the early fruit stage, cut diagonally from the upper part of the stem to collect the exuded milky resin, and dry it in the shade. Ferula contains volatile oil, resin, gum, etc. The oil contains a variety of organic acidifiers, such as (R) - sec butyl 1-propenyl disulfide, 1 (1-methylthiopropyl) 1-propenyl disulfide, sec butyl 3-methylthio allyl group disulfide, etc. The resin contains ferulic acid and its esters.
