L-arabinose is a commonly used food additive, also known as pectin sugar, L-arabinose, L-alpenose. Arabinose is a kind of five-carbon aldose obtained by hydrolysis of gum. It is the component of various gum, hemicellulose, pectin and other polysaccharides and some glycosides. L-arabinose, as a low-calorie sweetener, is widely found in the husk of fruits and roughage. Because it can inhibit the activity of sucrose enzyme in the human intestine, it has the effect of inhibiting sucrose absorption. In addition, L-arabinose can also inhibit the accumulation of body fat, so it can be used to prevent obesity, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and other diseases.
